These are manx coins new decimal 10p isle of man.

The thing which sets them apart is ; The 1992 10p coins were issued to replace the larger old 10p, mirroring the new UK version in size, weight and design but bearing the three-legged Manx triskelion instead of a lion. Pobjoy Mint is understood to have released a pre-production run of 200 coins bearing an ‘AA’ die mark for retail businesses and vending operators to test.

But while machines could accept the new UK 10p, the Manx coins were rejected and the mint asked for them back

As well as the initial AA die mark – the post-recall reissue of the Manx 10p bore a mix of different die marks such as AB and AC – the ‘PM’ mint marking is also missing from the pre-production coins; which is how you can tell the diffrence between the pre run and more general ones circulated in the hundreds since 92.

Effectively they where taken out of circulation and only a very few out of the 200 made it into private collectors hands.Extremely rare  the kew gardens  of the isle of man ;  theres very little info at pobjoys archives  and its been suggested the missing pm mark could have been another reason for the recall ;  making these coins equal to the 83 2p new pence uk coins  and the dateless 20 pence coins which are known as mule coins in the collectors trade ; which may well explain the lack of info ; an embarrassment for an otherwise awarded company

source       check your change co uk  The following statement from the R M relates to all of these years and in particular of the year 1972 in which it was the 25th wedding anniversary of queen elizabeth and prince phillip  But the reference to hard to find; etc ; relates to 72-74 sets as much; especially in mint condition as these sets are.
R.M. statement

1972 saw H.M. Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip celebrate 25 years of marriage. As such, the 1972 crown was issued to commemorate this milestone achievement. The coin’s design features the letters ‘EP’ within a floral garland and is struck to the exact same specification as modern day £5 coins. After decimalisation, the 1972 crown became the first British coin to have a face value of 25 pence. This also makes it the UK’s FIRST decimal crown.
The very best of the Royal Mint’s coins ... Each coin is struck to the Royal Mint’s highest standard Proof finish, using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks. Each coin can be appreciated in exquisite detail as every blank is struck more than once to ensure a clearer and finer design than the coins that you would find in your change.
Highly sought after by collectors
Because of the skill and time involved in striking proof coins they are struck to a strict limited edition. Proof sets represent the pinnacle of the Royal Mint’s craftsmanship, so they are in high demand amongst collectors.  Only a limited number available
This set is no longer available at the Royal Mint and can be difficult to track down on the secondary market. We only have a limited number available to offer but with demand high, we don’t expect these sets to be available for long.

Also applies to 73-74 sets. ,,, Specifications

JUST TWO EXAMPLES OF MANY

Unfortunately  for a long time sellers have broken up these sets  and other things which has left many of them  in a very sorry state; the upside is sets like those im selling are  more rare adding more value than would normally be; plus   reducing the amount in mint condition   and you dont have to be an expert  to know which sets will bring a better return for your money in years to come
